Bradley W. Pattison - Artist Statement

For the past 54 years I have worked exclusively with Liquitex acrylics. The running theme of most all of my work is the exploration between the dichotomy of being alone as apposed to being lonely. Whether in landscape, spacescape, floating architecture or room interiors. The question of being alone or lonely is omnipresent; creating an underlining mystery in each work. My interior images suggest someone has either left the room or is about to enter.

The second theme of my work concerns itself with defying gravity. Huge structures float effortlessly through space to unknown destinations.

The goal of my work as a painter is to engage the viewer to use their imagination to find the answers to these question for themselves.
